Lake Gaston '08

We just got back from a great week at Lake Gaston (on the VA/NC border). My dad, Amy, Shawn, Emma, Adam, Niki, Jacob, and the 3 of us were all there for the 3rd year in a row. There's no internet or cell phone signal around, so we just enjoy the peace & quiet and the beautiful views. Colby even got us up early one morning for a sunrise boat ride on the lake. The 2 cousins had a great time together. Colby already misses Emma & Jacob.

Sleeping

FINALLY!! COLBY IS FINALLY SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!! We've had a few nights here and there, but he has successfully slept through the night every night this week. He goes to bed about 8:30 pm and sleeps until 7 or 8:00 in the morning. After 7.5 months, it's so nice to get a good night's sleep.

Do we have a crawler or a walker?

Tonight Colby sort of crawled on the hardwood floors. I guess the slick surface helped! He can't do this on the carpet yet.


His most favorite thing to do right now is hold hands and walk around everywhere. He definitely likes walking around much better than being on his stomach to crawl.

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July. We took Colby for a walk and then on his first boat ride. He had a great time, even though we ended up going in before the fireworks show. Oh well, next year!



This is so much fun!


We spent the next day running errands and took Colby to a park. He just loves to swing! We're going to have to get one up in our yard soon.

His very first tooth just popped through tonight! He's been drooling for awhile, but I had given up hope that a tooth was on the way. Colby grabbed my finger and stuck it in his mouth, and I felt it. I guess he was trying to tell me something. Watch out for chompers! (Click on the picture above for a larger image)

Father's Day

We had a great 1st Father's Day. We went for a bike ride to the pool.
It wass Colby's 1st time in the big pool (the baby pool), and he loved it!

Cruise to Bermuda

We took a Royal Carribean cruise to Bermuda for our friends Mark & Michaela's wedding. They got married on the beach, and it was beautiful. We left Colby home with his Nana, which was really hard on us. We missed him terribly, but he had a great time. It was wonderful to see him when we got into Port Baltimore though.

Our last night on the cruise at sunset. We had a great time, but we were ready to get home to see our little boy!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday to Colby!

Today, is Colby's 1/2 Birthday! In other words, he's 6 months old! We can't believe how fast time is flying by. Our little one is growing so fast and doing so many fun things now. We're looking forward to the next 6 months and many more!

Rehoboth Beach

We took Colby to Rehoboth Beach this weekend for the 1st time. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time with Jason's mom, Uncle Matt, James & Diogie.

Colby woke us up at 4:30 am and was wide awake. So, we took a walk on the boardwalk and watched the sun come up. We were tired, but it was beautiful.

Walker Fun

Colby loves his walker. He likes to walk up and down the hallway. Won't be long before he's walking without it! :)

1st Mother's Day

I had a great 1st Mother's Day. Jason made blueberry pancakes for breakfast, we played and napped all day, and then we went to dinner at The Wild Orchid in Annapolis. We were all 3 sick, but we made the best of it. I hope everyone else had a fun Mother's Day too!

Retirement

After 38 years, my dad is retiring from SkillsUSA/VICA. Here are some pictures from the celebration luncheon.

1st taste of Cereal

A quick video of Colby's first bite of cereal. He's doing pretty well with it. We've now added green beans, and he likes them a lot. We're much more messier now too. :)

1st Beach Trip

We went to Nags Head, NC for the long Easter weekend. We had a lot of fun with everyone and we really enjoyed the beach. We walked on the beach, had a picnic by the ocean, spent time with Great Grandpa & Grams Fisher and played Idol Karaoke on the Wii.

Tuckered out jumperoo

Colby was jumping in his johnny jumper while I got a few things done. I turned around and this is what I found...poor little guy.

Babysitting

Emma was here this weekend, and she was a great babysitter to Colby.




Our power went out Saturday night, so we had a campout in front of the fireplace. Emma made sure Colby was okay while she played her computer game Uncle Jay got her.
