Friday Fun

Colby's new favorite thing to do is to walk the block with his lawn mower. He doesn't push it, he just wants to pull it down the street. It's so cute!

The past few Fridays we've met up with some of the neighborhood kids and their moms for some fun. Most of the kids are older than Colby, and they have cool bikes that he's always trying to ride.

Mother's Day

I know I'm late getting this post up, but I wanted to share pictures from our Mother's Day. We spent the day with both our moms in Reston Town Center.

After lunch, we walked down the street and found a fun fountain. Colby had a blast trying to catch the water and figure out where it disappeared to.

Until he got a little too close...

We finally did it

The grandparents are not going to be too happy about this post. We finally cut Colby's hair! Don't worry. He still has lots of cute curls! He wasn't too cooperative, so we only managed to trim around his ears and the back of his neck. So, it's still pretty long in the back and could use some more trimming, but he didn't want me to cut anymore. I was actually kind of sad. My little baby is a little boy and growing up too fast!

Before:

Giving mommy kisses before she cuts Colby's curls!

Mommy is concentrating very hard since Colby isn't sitting very still.

After:
(A couple days later. He's not feeling too well, hence the sad face)

Lillian Elizabeth Diehl

Our newest niece has arrived!! She was born at 5:58pm on Saturday, April 25th to my brother, Adam, and Niki. She's only 3lbs. 8oz. and 17.5 inches long, but she's doing great. The doctors will keep her in the NICU until she's 5 lbs.

It's hard to tell how small she is from the pictures, but if you compare her to the nose bulb, you can get a better idea. Her head is about the size as my fist. She's sooo tiny, but precious and we can't wait for her to come home!! Congratulations Adam, Niki, and Jacob! :)

1st Boat trip of '09

We had a great time on our first boat outing of the season. Colby wasn't too fond of the life jacket, but he got used to it. He had a great time driving with daddy and playing hide & seek. Looks like we'll have a fun season.

OBX Easter

Colby and I met his Nana, Aunt Amy, and cousin Emma at my grandparents' house in Nags Head, NC. We had a really great time. We even had a warm enough day to check out the beach. Colby had a great time playing in the sand, but the water was icy cold!

We had an Easter Egg hunt in my grandparents' front yard. Then, we stopped in Richmond on the way home to visit with Aunt Amy & Emma some more. Colby LOVES his cousin!

Annapolis Carnival

We had a fun day at the carnival today. Colby rode on a few rides and even won a toy. We weren't sure how he'd do on the rides, but he wasn't scared at all. I think he lost interest in one of the rides that seemed a little long, but otherwise, he did really well. We even shared a funnel cake before we left.

Egg Hunt

Today, we had a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Colby didn't really get it at first, but then he got the hang of it and started collecting the eggs.

Fun Weekend

We had a really fun weekend playing at a dinosaur playground in Ashburn, throwing rocks in a stream, riding a train at the mall and eating out with family. Can't wait to do it again soon!

Rock Climbing

Colby has been climbing on top of everything, so Jason wanted to take him to an indoor rock climbing wall. Jason used to rock climb a lot in college. Who knows..maybe Colby will one day too.

Ski Trip

We took a quick trip to Wintergreen Ski Resort for the weekend. This was Colby's first trip to the slopes. They had a great kids park that he and Emma got to play at for awhile. They had a tee-pee with a fire pit inside where we roasted marshmallows and made smores!

It was so much fun! We really enjoyed watching all the little kids zoom down the slopes. We can't wait until Colby is old enough to learn to ski!
